penang trip

traveling is not just about seeing things, it is about meeting people.

initially, i thought of writing it in day to day format, but i guess it was way too long winded. so i end up writing different headings.

the journey

we were forced to take a bus there. 9 hours of sitting.. it sounds quite terrible isn't it ? we slept through it and by the time we opened our eyes, we were at penang, looking at the sea and the barely lit penang island.

food

penang food is fabulous. it was really love at first taste with the local delights. from its penang laska to the muslim indian style nasi padang, every single dish tastes different and some even better than SG food. i am already missing penang food.. 

the gurney drive is a must go place in penang at night! they serve really nice food at night. needless to say, i can't forget the fresh coconut served in the local way and the famous roadside chendol. 

we also caught up on food that were already missing in SG. haha.. i am talking about the A & W and friday's. 

tourist spots

beside eating, we went to several famous tourists spots in penang. we had been to the biggest temple in malaysia which is Kek LoK Si, the biggest spice garden in SEA, boring botanic garden, night market, fish spas, massage and the beautiful beach. 

the sea activities are limited. the operators are out to hammer u for your money! they reduced from 100 + RM for parasailing to 100 RM for parasailing + banana boat. but in the end, we just tried the banana boat.

expects to see lots of tortoises in this temple. i won't be surprised if its nick is the tortoises farm.

cher's screams made this whole butterfly farm trip seems the most lively and fun.

the fish spa is only 15 RM for half an hour. lucky fishes got to eat supper.

Shopping

we satisfied our shopping carvings in KL! we spent close to 500 RM each in less than 6 hours. there wasn't any sales but somehow i was still being tempted to spend. i am feeling damn sinful guilty... haha..

unlucky last day

my bag was spoilt in the morning. as i was desperately looking for one, i bought another new bag at a relatively high price. then the flight back home got delayed and by the i stepped home, it was close to 8 pm. 

amazing stuff

firstly, we met at jojo and her bf at the rest point during the bus journey there. amazing.. they were heading towards rendang. it was such a small small world! secondly, i gwen surprised us by appearing at  door step. we didn't expect her to drop by as she didn't know our hotel room number. guess she was smart enough to contact KK.

friendly people!!

KK and i gwen are really really very friendly and nice!!! i can't believe they spent 2 entire days with us. showing us around their beautiful island and going with us to tourist spots. KK still fought with us to pay the bills for the meals. penangnites are really nice pple!!
